Fiat launches first ever ad on Sky mobile siteFiat is launching the first advert of its kind on Sky’s mobile site, in a bid to promote the Fiat 500.

The ad will be the first-ever advert to run on Sky’s mobile site that will route customer directly though the Fiat 500 WAP site.

In addition, the car manufacturer will be the first automotive company to use picture recognition technology that will allow customers to take a photo of Fiat’s national press adverts on their mobile phones and send it to a number to receive details on the Fiat 500 and its fuel saving technology, eco:Drive.

The six-week drive will also include launching the first animated banner seen on the mobile Internet, displayed by MSN, in a bid to drive potential customers to Fiat’s WAP site.

Fiat UK marketing director Elena Bernardelli says: “This is an exciting development for us. We will be making more of the Fiat 500 and eco:Drive with these interactive adverts, and the technology we are offering in our products is reflected in the technology of the marketing methods we are using.”
