Teacher recruitment DM shortlist drawn up
The Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) is set to appoint a direct marketing agency from a shortlist of four to support an integrated teacher recruitment drive.
The TDA (previously the Teacher Training Agency) and COI are working together on the pitch and four agencies have been invited to pitch but have not been named. The last agency to work with the TDA was advertising agency DDB London.
The winning agency will develop direct marketing collateral for both on and offline channels. The brief is to stimulate interest of potential teachers in the profession, particularly for undersupplied subjects such as maths and science.
The work includes developing a strategy to increase the registration of suitable candidates to the TDA teaching Information Line and a contact strategy to ensure follow up of priority enquiries.
The TDA needs to recruit an estimated 40,000 people to Initial Teacher Training each year. The new campaign is expected to break in October.
