Craik Jones loses Gap integrated business

Craik Jones loses Gap integrated businessCraik Jones Watson Mitchell Voelkel has lost the integrated business for the American-based clothing retailer Gap to Kitcatt Nohr Alexander Shaw, without a pitch.

The fashion giant last week reported a 9% year-on-year drop in July sales in its stores outside North America. It has resulted in major cost-cutting, including job cuts at the UK marketing team.

The blow to Craik Jones comes just as retailer Boots recently announced that it would be reviewing its direct marketing business there. It is looking for an agency to undertake CRM work for its Advantage Card and Craik Jones is not repitching for the business.

The loss of Gap follows the news that the agency has landed a place on the Capital One and RAC integrated rosters. Capital One appointed Craik Jones to its car services roster to join Partners Andrews Aldridge and Tullo Marshall Warren. It is believed the agency won the business without a pitch.

Craik Jones is also being tipped to win the below-the-line account for online retailer ASOS following a competitive pitch against undisclosed agencies.

It is also expected to be awarded a place on the RAC roster without a pitch. In May RAC added WDMP to its direct marketing roster, tasking the agency with creating a campaign to position it as "motoring experts".
