Most accept that the days of mass cold acquisition direct mail campaigns are over or at least numbered. There are two main reasons – 1) as consumers, we’re now sufficiently empowered to take control of the brands to which we give permission to speak to us – and to reject those that ignore this, and 2) legislative pressure – particularly from an environmental angle – is causing brands to think hard about the relevance and necessity of every piece of paper produced.
